I haven’t traveled much this winter. I haven’t had the best luck with it. As the snow continued to fall in February, so did the ceiling, leaving me at the airport at all the wrong times! Finally, however, I was able to catch a ride on the ice bridge instead and just skipped the plane altogether. It was my first (and so far only) ride on the ice bridge this year, and I had heard how bumpy it had gotten on the island side. And everyone was right! But once we got further out into the lake, the bridge started to smooth out and the rest of the ride was just fine.
On my way back, however, with the sun shining and not a cloud in the sky, I decided to take the plane home. It was a little windy, leaving our 5-person plane a little shaky in the sky, but other than that the ride was quick, as it usually is! The other nice thing about the flight was the view:
My snowmobile broke down on me recently, so I’ve been getting back into the idea of having to walk everywhere again…. although that sometimes brings me to a new adventure (just a little hint of my next picture post, hehe). And for those of you who might not know, March is National Reading Month! I want to say a big thanks to those of you who have been reading my little online book about post-apocalyptic Mackinac! I still haven’t figured out a title for it yet… anyway, my goal for the reading month of March is to write more, so I hope to post many more chapters to the book this month! Check back soon for Chapter 6…
